Little Fair,Big Tradition
The first Baca County Fair was established in 1914 as an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate our agricultural heritage. Early fairs featured livestock and crop competitions, agricultural displays, community gatherings, and entertainment, highlighting the hard work and achievements of local farmers and ranchers.

As ranching culture continued to shape the region, the event grew to include a rodeo, where cowboys could showcase their skills in roping and riding.

More than a century later, this tradition continues much the same way. The Baca County Fair & Rodeo remains one of the county’s most cherished annual events, bringing the community together to celebrate agriculture, western heritage, and small-town pride.

The fair continues to thrive thanks to the hard work and dedication of generations of local volunteers—especially the Baca County Fair Board—along with the continued support of the Baca County Commissioners and the many community members who help make the event possible each year.
